Bristol-based nutritionist and food fanatic, committed to inciting enthusiasm for nutritional science and it's role in our physical and mental health.
Bio
I am an experienced nutritionist specialising in Nutritional Psychiatry and interactions between physical and mental health. I focus on the simple foundations of healthful dietary patterns to provide essential tools for brain function, cognition and mood.
I work in private practice and at The Priory Hospital (Bristol), with people experiencing depression, anxiety, chronic stress and addiction and nervous system disorders including myalgic encephalomyelitis and fibromyalgia.

I hold a BA (Hons) in English Language and following ten years in senior leadership in corporate I.T., I gained a level 6 diploma (with distinction) in nutrition and am currently completing an MSc in Nutrition and Behaviour.

My postgraduate studies and professional experience also focus on nutrition research, to advance understanding in this field, bring new insights into my practice and improve public understanding of nutritional science. I am currently leading a primary research project on the relationship between diet and mood in young adults and have recently worked with the University of Manchester, reviewing innovative lifestyle interventions for mental health patients. I work for Penny Brohn UK as their nutrition information and communication coordinator, researching prevention and adjunctive management strategies for cancer and translating findings into meaningful and useable information for their clients.

My former experience in corporate management and my own health journey, mean I fully empathise with physical, lifestyle and emotional challenges many people face. I am greatly motivated by helping people use positive approaches towards nutrition as a powerful tool for resilience and mental health, while finding enjoyment in food that supports social wellbeing.
